H1N1 immunization update for Nov. 25
The Georgian
Western Health issued a release this afternoon reminding the public that H1N1 mass immunization clinics for Nov. 25 are as follows:
Piccadilly, Community Health office, Western Health – Nov. 25, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Jeffreys, Medical Clinic/Community Health office, Western Health – Nov. 25, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Western Health says it would like to reassure the public that H1N1 mass immunization clinics will continue throughout the region as soon as the province receives more vaccine. In addition, they ask for the public’s continued patience as they attempt to get everyone vaccinated.
“We have tried to accommodate people who are attending our mass immunization clinics through a numbering system”, said Dr. Greg Mercer, Medical Office of Health for Western Health, in the release. “On a go forward basis, we will be passing out numbers or waitlist tickets to people just an hour before the clinic starts. In doing this, we hope to make the process as fair and equitable for all. Once we run out of vaccine for that particular clinic, we will be asking people to be patient and return again at our next scheduled clinic.”
Western Health would also like to remind parents that children between the ages of 6 months and 3 years of age who require a second H1N1 vaccination will be called by their local community health office to arrange for an appointment. Children between the ages of 3 years and 9 years who have a chronic condition (such as asthma) and require a second H1N1 vaccination will be notified of a schedule in the near future.
As part of the H1N1 immunization registration process, persons are required to have their MCP Card with them at the time of registration. People are asked to wear short sleeves or easy roll up sleeves.
If people have questions or concerns please call 1-877-632-H1N1 (4161).
