This Cape St. George resident was recently in St. John's, vying for a spot on the province's curling team at the 2011 Canada Winter Games.
She was one of four ladies out of a dozen chosen for a spot on the team.
"I was the second person whose name was called out," she said. "I cried."
She currently plays three times a week at the Caribou Curling Club with a ladies team from Corner Brook.
The 2011 Canada Winter Games are being held in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Athletes from across the country will converge on the city to compete in over 20 sports.
