A Kippens resident recently won the Provincial Hershey 1,600 m race, breaking the provincial record by 30 seconds, which she set last year.

Jillian Forsey's time of 5:29 held the top of all the provincial runners and six regions. She left last week for Hershey Pennsylvania to attend the Hershey North American Final competition.

"Jillian is very quiet, self motivated runner, she has an amazing finish to the race," said Rosemary Ryan-Forsey, Jillian's mother and coach. "She loves it, lives and dies for it."

Ms. Ryan-Forsey noted her daughter will also be competing in a national championship in Sherbrook, QC, in 800, 1,500 and 3,000 m races.

"Upon return from the nationals she will travel to the Canada games in PEI to compete in the 1,500 m," she said.
