Dear Santa,

Hard to believe that 2009 is almost over! We'd like to take this opportunity to let you know how appreciative we are for all the wonderful things you brought us last year. And we'd also like to let you know that we've been working extra hard to stay on your 'nice' list this holiday season.

Actually, everybody's been so busy over these past few weeks, trying to get our Christmas edition ready, that we almost forgot to write you a note. Luckily our editor has found a few spare minutes to scribe this letter.

We have so much to be grateful for this holiday season. Gloria, advertising sales person extraordinaire, continues to wow everybody with her expertise. Julie, customer service rep, helps so many people with their queries and has expanded her role at the Georgian to help Gloria with various sales assignments. Marilee, always-effervescent office and circulation manager, keeps everything in order with great precision.

Sabrina, fearless reporter, keeps digging up and writing impressive news and community stories. And Christopher, our editor, enjoys hearing from and writing about as many people as possible throughout the Bay St. George region.

And we can't forget our wonderful paper delivery drivers, carriers, correspondents, layout crew, printers and, of course, our loyal readers. Each and every one of them has made for a wonderful 2009 and we look forward to making even more friends and contacts in 2010.

We have so much to be thankful for that we really couldn't think of what else we could possibly need. Well, the ladies of the office keep mentioning a coffee outlet for our lunchroom. And the lone gentleman always has his eye on a new briefcase. But these are small things, Santa. What we really want is to wish everybody a safe and memorable holiday season and wonderful year ahead.

Please say hello to Mrs. Claus, the elves and the reindeer for us. And have a safe trip this Christmas. We'll be on the lookout for you.

Your friends,

the Georgian team
