Western Health are advising the publics that visitor restrictions have been lifted at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital.

The restriction was in place due to a number of patients with an influenza-like illness.

Due to the high incidence of influenza circulating in area communities, the health body is asking anyone who has flu-like symptoms – including cough, fever, runny nose, and headache – to not visit any of Western Health’s facilities.

They advise people with any of these symptoms to rest at home, drink fluids, practise proper hand washing with water and soap, and if the symptoms persist, contact their physician.

To prevent the spread of infection, they ask the public to wash/ sanitize their hands when entering or leaving any of Western Health's facilities.
