Mark Baltzer appeared in provincial court in St. John's Monday, but was sent back to the Waterford Hospital to continue a psychiatric assessment.

Mr. Baltzer was arrested June 20 on the west coast with a large number of weapons including a high-powered rifle, a crossbow and ammunition.

After he appeared in court in Stephenville last month, he was sent for a psychiatric assessment in St. John's.

On Monday, he appeared in court, but the doctor at the Waterford asked for more time.

Mr. Baltzer did not consent to being sent back to the hospital.

"This innocent until proven guilty thing is a farce," he said to Judge Greg Brown.

The judge ordered him back for another 21 days of assessment.

Mr. Baltzer is due to appear in provincial court in Stephenville on July 26.
