The Royal Canadian Mounted Police "B" Division will be conducting a province-wide road safety blitz during Canada Road Safety Week, which is May 18 to 24,
RCMP Traffic Services in the east, central, west and Labrador divisions will be joined by traffic enforcement agencies, including the Department of Works Services and Transportation enforcement section to conduct checkpoints.
The RCMP say this traffic enforcement initiative is a part of an effort to encourage motorists to drive more safely on the province's roadways. The officers will be checking for seatbelts, non-compliance, and aggressive and impaired driving.
Checkpoints will be taking place throughout the province during the week at any time during the day and night.
