RCMP investigate fraudulent ticket sales

The RCMP are reporting that an unknown person was reported going door to door in the Kippens area selling tickets for a fundraiser for the Stephenville High School.

An investigation began on April 29, as there was no such fundraiser occurring.

Police determined on May 5 that a youth was the sole perpetrator of the offence. The youth has been identified and is being dealt with through the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The RCMP encourage the public to call their local police or the parent organization if they have any questions regarding door to door fundraising in their area.
