The Town of Kippens is hoping to bring the provincial government on side with its proposed sewer system project when Tom Hedderson, transportation and works minister, visits the town later this year.
Councillor Debbie Brake Patton told council last week she had recently written letters regarding the proposal to Minister Hedderson and Dianne Whalen, minister of municipal affairs.
The councillor said she received word Minister Hedderson would be coming to the area to have a look at the problem areas she had indicated in her letters.
"I'm really excited that he's going to come out and I'll hopefully get a couple of councillors together and we can all go around to the designated areas," she said.
Councillor Brake Patton noted to council the town had also recently received letters of support regarding the proposal from the towns of Port au Port East, Stephenville Crossing, as well from Bay St. George South Area Development Association.
