Western Health announced today that visitation restrictions have been lifted at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre. These restrictions were put in place due to an outbreak of a stomach flu-like illness which included vomiting and diarrhea.

However, people who have had vomiting and diarrhea or other flu like symptoms are asked to refrain from visiting any of Western Health's facilities. The health body says individuals with any of these symptoms should rest at home, drink fluids, practice proper hand washing with hot water and soap, and if the symptoms persist contact their physician.

A visitation ban continues at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook.
