On Oct. 31, 2009 RCMP Traffic Services stopped a vehicle on the Trans Canada Highway near Deer Lake for a violation of the Highway Traffic Act. The subsequent investigation lead to the seizure of 35 lbs of Cannabis Marihuana.

On Oct. 31, 2009 RCMP Traffic Services stopped a vehicle on the Trans Canada Highway near Deer Lake for a violation of the Highway Traffic Act. The subsequent investigation lead to the seizure of 35 lbs of Cannabis Marihuana.

A 54-year-old male from Nova Scotia was arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. He is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Corner Brook Nov. 2

This seizure would yield 47,670 joints of Marihuana .
